Today I finally made it to Scrap - a donation-based craft store in N Portland. I was hoping to find some materials for my jewelry, but no luck. However, I did find these great fabrics - all between fifty cents and three dollars! I had to dig through piles and piles of junk, but I found some gems. No idea what I am going to do with these - but I'm hoping that I will get inspired!

Doesn't this remind you a little of Mociun prints?
So intricate and sweet

I live right here with you

I recently saw Jackie Greene perform at the Aladdin Theater. I wasn't sure what to expect, since I hadn't listened to much of his music. He is great live! Show featured original music and great covers by Eric Clapton, Grateful Dead and Elton John. Couldn't find any footage from the show, but this gives you an idea...

opening night @ PIFF

It's that time of year in Portland - when everyone is feeling a bit restless from the winter and in need of a little rejuvenation and inspiration. That's why February is one of my favorite months in the City of Roses. Tonight we celebrated the opening of the Portland International Film Festival and it's 35th anniversary. The opening film was this British flick, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. I must say, I love Ewan McGregor (he stole my heart in Beginners). While this film didn't leave quite as big of an impression, it was very sweet and entertaining - as British humor often is. The after party took place at Hotel Modera and was fabulous! Great food, drinks, people and atmosphere! PDX knows how to do it right. Looking forward to all the films to come. I will try to write short reviews of the films I see.

February also kicks off the Portland Jazz Festival and the Worst Day of the Year Bike Ride

I was just fooling around in Illustrator and made this little design. Maybe I'll incorporate it into a logo if I ever make anything beautiful enough to sell!
